Cory Oliver

In 2014, GeekRockTV attended the 22nd Annual Movieguide Awards – Empowering Epics. We joined the red carpet event as many guests arrived for the big night. We got an inside scoop from actress Cory Oliver. Oliver was presenting the award for ‘Best Movie Title’ at the awards show. We posed the question of what inspires Oliver to stay in the faith genre movies – as she is such a dimensional actress she could act in anything – she answers with a humble, “God is my inspiration, and my daughter is my inspiration. To be able to do things that she can watch and witness… is really important to me.” She also answers that her favorite verses are Jeremiah 29:11 and Psalm 46:10, these verses are very applicable and inspirational to Oliver. Cory Oliver is also in an upcoming film God’s Not Dead with Kevin Sorbo and Dean Kane. Her character is a Christian woman dating [Kevin Sorbo’s character] an atheist man. She laughs while saying, “life imitates art” because in real life she is dating an atheist. We questions Oliver with what Bible-based movie she would like to see; she ponders for a moment while we responds with “Ruth” and Oliver agrees then implies that Revelation would be a cool movie. The interview concluded with Oliver saying, “You got to keep your relationship with God solid and just pray.”
