Whether you are a comic book fan or a fan of Fox’s Gotham you know just how integral the character of Catwoman is to Batman’s overall character evolution. Camren Bicondova does an exceptional job bringing yet another Selina Kyle/Catwoman onto the screen with her own rendition of the character, especially portraying Catwoman during her teenage years. Bicondova is not your typical teen actor; she has no ego to flaunt and engages with her audience on and off screen with a highly charismatic personality. A very big role with big shoes to fill Bicondova discusses her thoughts about the major changes Catwoman has under gone throughout the show as well as the relationship with Bruce Wayne (played by David Mazouz).
Catwoman is neither hero nor villain; the appropriate title might as well be “anti-hero” due to her active conscience as well as her controversial tactics. Bicondova notes how after the story arc with Catwoman’s mother she rediscovers how self-reliant the character must be to survive in the world of Gotham. She also brings her relationship with Bruce into the light by explaining how her feelings towards him are constantly fluctuating which causes her to lose sight of who she really is, or who she feels she needs to be. She notes how the chemistry between them feels natural, especially with the exceptional writing for the show, which allows the teen versions of the characters to be predecessors to their future alter egos. Bicondova demonstrated her passion towards the character with knowledge of the comic book source material as well as those who have also brought Catwoman to life such as one of the original Catwoman’s, Julie Newmar. Both Camren Bicondova and Selina Kyle have bright futures ahead of them and the fans are eager to see where season 4 puts Catwoman.
