Here we get a closer look into yet another “Femme Fatale” from the cast of Gotham as Jessica Lucas brings us her thoughts on playing the character Tabitha Galavan. While starting off as a formidable ally and sister to Theo Galavan, who earlier in the series attempted to take over Bruce Wayne’s company, Tabitha has blossomed into a fan favorite due to her badass demeanor as well as interesting fluctuations in loyalty. We have seen Tabitha excel in combat as well as be cunning and clever when manipulating those who could destroy her. She has been with fellow mastermind Barbra Keen however Tabitha struggles to define her identity when it comes to whose side she is on due to her quarrel with the mighty Butch Gilzean. Lucas brings to light all the details we have been fan theorizing about; her relationship with not only Butch, but Barbra, and Selina/Catwoman as well, all while trying to survive in Gritty old Gotham.
Who was initially seen as a sort of Harley Quinn to Theo Galavan, Tabitha has proven time and time again that she is indeed not one to mess with, such is the case with many of the female roles in the show. Lucas notes how each lovely lady is not just physically capable but is just as cunning and clever, she noted that the producers truly want to show that the girls of Gotham should not be taken lightly. Tabitha also takes Selina under her wing during the show but Lucas states that this is due to Catwoman’s dark side slowly blossoming, undoubtedly due to her allegiance to both Fish Mooney and Barbra Keen. Barbra who allied herself with Tabitha for a short while, but as Lucas puts it, was done as a way to feel free from her past restrictions even though Tabitha sees Barbra as an asset with benefits. Tabitha’s conflicting feelings with Barbra and Butch came to an interesting apex when she had to choose between Butch’s life, which was recently spent trying to get rid of Barbra, and her own hand. Tabitha is a powerhouse played by the extremely talented Jessica Lucas and we are eager to see where her loyalties will travel and how she will deal with her romantic entanglement.
