Actress Rachel Kimsey, Wonder Woman in Cartoon Network’s series Justice League Action, stops by to chat with GeekRockTV’s Machelle Noel. Kimsey was a real life fighter before she found her newest home at CN, voicing Wonder Woman! She tells us how her favorite vocal warm ups involve belting Broadway show tunes in the car on the way to recording sessions. She also does an ab routine, because being able to control your diaphragm is very important for vocal performing, but the show tunes are way more fun. Kimsey says she loves to geek out about superheroes, sci-fi, really the whole genre world! They also discuss the myth of the “fake geek girls”. Women are a huge driving force in geek-world economics, and the idea that people are out there spending all this money faking it to look cool is laughable. Especially since geek culture is so popular now!

Jacqueline was very young when she found her first love: stories. She’s been surrounded by them her whole life, and when she realized she wanted to tell stories for a living she found her place in the world. In fact, she loves storytelling so much that she decided to go to college where she could write and travel the world to find more unique stories. She is a proud writer, self-taught musician and artist, Disney fanatic, Ravenclaw, sci-fi and fantasy lover, self-proclaimed honorary Avenger, and complete geek. Having written everything from fan fiction to newspaper articles, book reviews to experimental prose that was published in her university’s Honors Journal. She has gone many places in pursuit of her degree, from interning at a documentary company in Venice Beach to assisting a Lonely Planet writer in Prague, and she hopes to continue using her writing skills to inform and inspire people.
