Even though he is not a day one cast member we have all come to know and love the newest addition to the west family as well as team Flash, Wally West A.K.A. Kid Flash. Keiynan Lonsdale plays the character and during his introduction in season 2 there were multiple hints that Kid Flash was looming on the horizon even if you were not familiar with the comic book origins of the character. Being a drag racer and being “all about speed” should have been a clear indicator the Lonsdale would soon suit up to help save Central City. We saw him shine in season 3 and after all the pandemonium we are all eager to see how Wally has adapted into the new situation of being Kid Flash as well as an integral member to team Flash in season 4.
Kid Flash has some shoes to fill in the new season but Wally is up for the challenge to take the team a step forward rather than backward especially after the lost of Barry. The team has been forced into a new environment but Lonsdale describes it as a test to become stronger rather than a hiatus from having the Flash around to save the day. With Barry’s Absence we see that Wally has gained some freedom and independence to flourish as Kid Flash and that with the return of his speedster brother he finds himself questioning how he has carried the mantle. Just as the rest of the cast has told us Lonsdale conforms to the lighter tone of the new season but also notes that it will be more “comic booky”, I think I may trademark that one so hopefully Lonsdale doesn’t mind.

Running up against an evil time remnant version of yourself is something no one should ever have to do, but that’s exactly what faced Barry Allen (a.k.a. the Flash) as he fought to save the life of fiancée Iris West from the God of Speed known as Savitar. Barry’s victory was short-lived, however, as an unbalanced Speed Force began to wreak havoc on Central City, forcing Barry to sacrifice himself for the greater good. With the Fastest Man Alive now trapped inside an extra-dimensional energy and unknown dangers lurking in the shadows, it will be up to Team Flash to free Barry from his own personal Hell. Join the cast and creators of The CW’s highest-rated series and be among the first to find out where things will pick up when season 4 returns this fall.
