Again we are graced with the presence of Cameron Cuffe a.k.a. Seyg El and this time around we have even more to talk about as the premiere date for Syfy’s Krypton slowly approaches. It genuinely is refreshing and enriching when an actor lands a role that gives them as much satisfaction as it does the viewer and that is precisely who Cameron Cuffe is. Joking about how he has been preparing for his role since he was young and wearing a red towel around his neck it’s incredible how invested he is. Throughout our discussion we got the good on the development of Seyg throughout the first season of the show and we were also privy to the info that has shaped the persona of Superman’s grandfather.
We are told that Seyg questions everything, his moral compass is not as dialed in as his grandson’s but still he and Lyta share similar views of the world and how it should be and it serves as the foundation of their relationship. It also serves as the tension that builds up with Nyssa, not only with Lyta but Seyg constantly tries to get a read on her, easier said then done I can only imagine. We also know that Adam Strange sparks the adventure yet there is friction between him and Seyg but no matter how they feel towards each other they know that they are in this together. Against Brainiac the two are at intimidating odds yet Cuffe tells us that he serves as the motivation for his character, mainly because his relative was killed for trying to warn of Brainiac’s arrival. Krypton will pay homage to all the sources of lore while establishing it’s own agency and who knows which characters will come into play, Cuffe has already teased Green Lantern, so fan theorize about that.
