Eline Powell, Alex Roe & Fola Evans-Akingbola

Actors Eileen Powell, Alex Roe, and Fola Evans-Akingbola from the Freeform series Siren swing by to answer some of GeekRockTV’s most pressing questions.

Everyone is so excited to see more mermaids in season 2! The budding relationship audiences ate up last season between Powell and Roe’s characters, Ryn and Ben, is put on hold in the beginning of season two. They’re “on a break,” as they both need some space to figure out their own things. However, once they come back together, the actors hint, they’ll be able to make their bonds stronger than ever. There is lots of talk of the love triangle between Ryn, Maddie, and Ben. All the actors are excited about the possible relationships between Ryn and Ben, Ben and Maddie, and Ryn and Maddie. Their attraction to each other opens up doors to explore non-monogamy in interesting ways we rarely see on television. Evans-Akingbola is particularly interested in Maddie’s situation at the end of season 1 and exploring what happens in a parent-child relationship when the roles are switched. Before the actors are pulled away, Powell says that Rynn’s dream is to be able to choose between land and sea, though the way things are going so far that may not be a choice she can make.

41Fresh off the heels of their first season, the cast and executive producers of Freeform’s hit mermaid drama Siren make their San Diego Comic-Con debut, recapping season 1 and revealing what fans can expect from season 2. In this epic tale, the coastal town of Bristol Cove is turned upside down when a mysterious girl (Eline Powell) appears and begins wreaking havoc on the small fishing town. Using their resources, marine biologists Ben (Alex Roe) and Maddie (Fola Evans-Akingbola) must work together to find out who and what drove this primal hunter of the deep sea to land. Panelists include executive producers Eric Wald and Emily Whitesell, with series stars Eline Powell, Alex Roe, Fola Evans-Akingbola, Ian Verdun, and Rena Owen. Moderated by TLC’s Chilli. | Siren
