As Brainiac, Rath is excited to finally get a chance to play an alien and also be able to take a human form. He has taken on alien roles before, only he was hiding behind SFX makeup. While this makes it harder to put together a solid acting portfolio, he enjoys the mystery behind the mask. Rath said that getting to take on a different form enables him to feel free in his acting and thoroughly play the character. As an actor, it took some adjusting to feel comfortable acting as himself and not always in an elaborate costume.
His character Brainy, must learn to adapt in this new season now that he is stuck in a different century. Without the aid of his high-tech gadget in addition to dealing with a new set of people, he faces a learning curve. There is also the focus on how Brainiac deals with his experience of history. Rath talked about how there is this difference between knowing the history and being the one to experience it. His character comes to learn what it feels like to go through those difficult times, despite being a walking “spoiler-alert”.
Season 3 saw Supergirl stop Reign and the other Worldkillers’ threat to humanity and our planet, and in the process Kara was shocked to find her mother Alura alive and living in a salvaged Argo City that survived the destruction of Krypton. Reconnecting with her past caused Kara to realize that her true home is now here on Earth, where big changes are taking place for her and all of her friends in National City and also, it appears, for a doppelganger in Russia! Season 4 promises to be full of surprises, action, adventure, and lots of big revelations for Supergirl, Alex, James, J’onn, Lena, and Brainy. The series’ cast and creative team give a special video presentation, followed by a Q&A where they’ll discuss what’s to come and more! From Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, Supergirl’s fourth season will premiere in its new Sunday 8/7c time slot on The CW this fall. | Supergirl
