Supergirl is back and is a force to be reckoned with! Melissa Benoist, Katie McGrath, David Harewood and more answered questions and talked about the show at the 2018 San Diego Comic Con. This new season is promising a whole new tone and perspective of the DC universe. They wanted to reflect the sort of issues that we see in our modern world. The cast and crew kept fans hyped up and anticipating the arrival of season 4. Old favorites are going through their own personal journeys and new characters are surely going to stir things up. Kara gets more in touch with her journalistic routes and Alex is even navigating her role as the head of the DEO. Brainiac5 played by Jesse Rath is going to be recurring character, and there is even the arrival of a new transgender superhero, Nia Nal, played by Nicole Maines. During the Comic Con Panel, fans can hardly keep still when learning the details about what to expect next season.

The cast discuss where the characters leave off at the end of season 3 and how that sets them up for the upcoming one. There are more grounded stories this time that gives audiences a glimpse into the characters’ personal lives. The cast hints at the emotional growth that will play out on screen, alongside how the show will tackle new obstacles that they haven’t done before. Though much is changing for Supergirl fans, the same core of hope and justice that makes the show so enjoyable will not be going anywhere.

index111Season 3 saw Supergirl stop Reign and the other Worldkillers’ threat to humanity and our planet, and in the process Kara was shocked to find her mother Alura alive and living in a salvaged Argo City that survived the destruction of Krypton. Reconnecting with her past caused Kara to realize that her true home is now here on Earth, where big changes are taking place for her and all of her friends in National City and also, it appears, for a doppelganger in Russia! Season 4 promises to be full of surprises, action, adventure, and lots of big revelations for Supergirl, Alex, James, J’onn, Lena, and Brainy.
