If you were as excited as I was when the news of Young Justice’s revival then this video is worth much more than 30 minutes. Thankfully we got to sit down with Troy Baker and Stephanie Lemelin who voice Geo-Shock and Artemis as well as others from the show. Both talked about how the show’s second coming was one of the news shocks they got, although Lemelin loved seeing the response that the show had all over social media. Baker, who is new to the show talked about how it was incredible to now be a part of something that he was a fan of before even though he described the character as B-List. But don’t let that fool you Baker went into depth on how that leaves a lot room for the character to develop even with influences from canon sources. Now that the show will be through the DC Universe streaming the show has a lot more room for story telling and Lemelin describes how there are emotions and themes that come along with that freedom, especially after the heavy loss Artemis suffered. It will be complex, rich, and character driven so keep your eyes peeled for when Young Justice: Outsiders drops.
It’s time for a first look at one of the most highly anticipated shows of the year. In Young Justice: Outsiders, the teenage superheroes of the DC universe come of age in an animated world of super-powers, super-villains, and super-secrets. I’m a full blown fanboy that is waist deep in everything from comic books, TV shows, movies, anime, and the lot. Growing up my Dad was extremely influential in providing the best of the best in terms of classic sources of entertainment which has undoubtedly shaped my interests to this day. While I definitely have more of an interest in Marvel I am not out of the loop when it comes to DC, Darkhorse, or Image comics as wells as each’s additional media content. I love the comic book culture and when I’m not geeking out I’m listening to or playing music and skateboarding around San Diego, which is way better than New Jersey.
