Paper Girls | Vol. 1

61FQRdp+GgL._SX323_BO1,204,203,200_Early morning on November 1st, 1988, something happens that will change the world forever. And in the middle of it all are four middle-school-aged paper girls.

This comic masterfully combines action and mystery, youth and suspense, present and future into a whirlwind sci-fi time travel adventure. Instead of their usual, torturous hours-after-Halloween paper run, Erin, MacKenzie, KJ, and Tiffany find themselves in the middle of something unexplainable. A teenager steals one of their walkie talkies, and after chasing him into an abandoned building the paper girls run into something extraterrestrial, a cross between a moon lander and a living alien. The mysterious space ship emits a strange energy, and when the girls wake up they find that most of the people in town have vanished. Little do they know, two warring factions of time travelers have chosen their place and time for their battle.

Paper Girls panels are incredibly vibrantly colored. The realistic preteen-in-the-80s dialogue gives each character a unique voice you can hear while you read it. This story is full of wild twists and turns that even the most seasoned comic book fans will find themselves surprised by. Do yourself a favor – read Paper Girls!
