When aliens crash land in Hawaii, the only one who can save the world is a compassionate little girl named Lilo who takes in and loves a crazy, blue alien, Stitch.
Stitch is the product of an illegal alien experiment, known by his creator as experiment 626, who escaped his creator’s clutches and escaped to Earth. Lilo, an outcast orphan being raised by her 19-year-old sister Nani, finds Stitch at a dog shelter the day after he crash-landed on Earth. While Lilo tries to teach Stitch how to be good, Stitch tries to evade capture by his creator, Jumba, and his assistant, Pleakley. Stitch grows to love Lilo and her family, which makes things even worse when an alien military agent, Captain Gantu, comes to Earth to take Stitch back to the Galactic Federation. Stitch fights for his freedom, but things don’t always work out the way you want them to.
Lilo & Stitch is a heartwarming story about freedom, love, belonging, family, and sacrifice. Hawaiian culture sings throughout this movie, from little nuances to gorgeous traditional songs coloring the score. Audiences of all ages will find something to love about this odd duo. Though they look a little out of place, they are full of heart that you won’t soon forget.
