pixars_up_poster-2What do you do when the world is telling you one thing, but your heart is telling you another? If you’re anything like Karl Fredricksen, you’ll tie thousands of balloons to your house and fly away to chase your dream. Adventure is out there!

Retired man Karl Fredricksen has been depressed since his wife and best friend died. He and his wife had always loved adventuring and dreamed of moving to a remote waterfall in South America. When developers try to buy his house from under him and he is sentenced to a retirement home, Karl turns his home into a makeshift airship with thousands of balloons. Karl accidentally takes local scout Russell on this adventure with him. Russell spends the whole time trying to earn his “assisting the elderly” badge for Wilderness Explorers. Little do they know it, but when Russell and Karl land in Paradise Falls, somewhere in South America, the adventure is only beginning.

Up is a heartwarming story that shows us that growing old doesn’t have to mean growing up, and that you’re never too old for an adventure. After seeing this movie, all members of your family will want to get out there and have themselves a great adventure together.
