The 2019 Movieguide Awards was presented on Hallmark Channel. Hallmark Channel has a purpose to create positive stories so families can enjoy watching together. Movies like Spiderman: Into the Universe, I Can Only Imagine, Medal of Honor: “Hiroshi Hershey Miyamura” and other films were awarded with great recognition on how impactful the films are towards audiences.
We held an interview with actress Merritt Patterson who has appeared on Hallmark Channel’s original movies “A Royal Winter” and “The Christmas Cottage”. She has also done other work with “The Royals” tv show, “Ravenswood”, and has made appearances in “Supernatural”, “The Art of More” and other shows. Here is our interview with the actress.
Host: Machelle Noel over at the 2019 Movie Guide Awards and joining me right now is Merritt Patterson. Merritt, thank you so much for being on our show, I’m such a huge fan of yours.
Merritt: Thank You
Host: So you presented tonight.
Merritt: Yeah we just presented. Sam Hunt and I. It was really nerve-wracking. I don’t know, if I ever presented an award before. So, I was really nervous.
Host: Well I had ever faith that you were gonna do great.
Merritt: I kinda blacked out, I don’t even really remember it.
Host: I saw it in the movie screen, you did pretty good girl.
Merritt: Okay.
Host: Now given the fact that we’re at the Movieguide Awards, what does this particular award show mean to you?
Merritt: I think it’s just a great opportunity to acknowledge some films that are just… put out a lot of hope, and I think everyone needs that. So it’s, it’s a great award show to be a part of. And I was really excited to present. And [unbroken?]’s actually nominated for a few awards so. Yeah.
Host: Given the fact that, you know it’s all about inspiration, what kind of inspirational advice do you have for filmmakers and actors who want to get into this crazy industry?
Merritt: It is a crazy industry, it’s a very crazy industry. Um, I would say, you know, it’s worth it if it’s something that you love. You just have to… really go for it, really go for it and stay positive.
Host: I agree, and how has acting enhanced your life professionally as a person and spiritually as an actor?
Merritt: I mean it’s enhanced my life in so many ways. I, I am the most happiest on a set. So that feeling, that like pure joy I live for. So that alone is great. I mean you get to meet a lot of really interesting people, really loving people when you form these relationships, and you get to travel. I mean, there’s so many great things about it.
Host: Do you have any upcoming projects you can tease us about?
Merritt: Nothing I can tease yet, they’re… they’re in like development. I can’t quite announce but.
Host: But it’s in Hallmark maybe?
Merritt: Yeah
