The adversary of our main female protagonist is here to provide a lot of spooky and thought provoking occurrences, which really should come as no surprise but thankfully Wallis Day puts it lightly. Playing Nyssa Vex, Day expresses her investment in the character being a bit of a geek herself when it comes to comic books and superheroes in general. Also talking about the first few episodes and how the tension will rise continuously through the first season is something that should put us all at the edge of our seats. We also got the chance to understand Nyssa on a deeper level than most other characters in the show will get to see, or perhaps they will discover the true Nyssa but only when it’s too late.
The character is complex to say the least because of her constant teetering between friend or foe, regardless she is out for what’s hers and Seyg might just be part of what’s her’s. This is one of the reason’s why she and Lyta will be at each other’s throats but Day does point out that there are a lot of strong female characters that will be shown throughout the show. It was also good to hear how she worked with the writers to compose a version of the character that she felt was appropriate, especially after her audition showed a slightly askew version of Nyssa. She is not as fearful of Brainiac as the rest of Krypton so we will see Nyssa either keep her cool or finally show fear but as the temperature rises so does our anticipation.
P.S. Episode % is a game changer, sorry for the spoiler.
